Content exhibition in Museum Nusantara
Museum Nusantara is entirely focused on the history and the many cultures of Indonesia. The permanent exhibition shows the age-old relationship between the Netherlands and Indonesia, the East India Company, the colonial administration, and the Indische Instelling, the Indies Institute.

There is also an exhibition of fabulous objects from Indonesian sub-cultures, such as the Moluccas, Toraja, Batak, and Asmat.

Together with the flower-arranging artists Asselien Broekhuis and Geertje Stienstra, Pim van den Akker demonstrates his creative modern vision of the age-old flower arranging art Ikebana.

It is translated into Western culture, with the emphasis of flower compositions on modern and innovative group works, larger installations, and smaller group works. The harmonious interplay of form, line, colour and rhythm, and the symbiosis with nature are always central to this traditional Japanese art form.

The garden of Museum Het Prinsenhof in particular offers an excellent chance to emphasise the balanced relationship between art and nature.
